Direct Fan Engagement – what brands can learn from the music industry

The music industry and many artists are undergoing a vivid transformation from top down content producers and mass entertainers to connecting on individual levels with fans. Some artists, such as Chamillionaire capitalize on digital marketing and gamification effects for a higher level of brand engagement, which is impressively shown in the following clip (extract from the 2012 gamification summit).
